Orlovsky: 'Carolina, It's Time to Make the Move' to 'Own the Division for the Next Ten Years'

In this story:
Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson, Will Levis. One of those four will be the future quarterback of the Carolina Panthers, right? One would assume.
Carolina has neglected to draft a quarterback over the last handful of years to focus on building the rest of the roster and have done a good job of doing so by taking guys like DT Derrick Brown, S Jeremy Chinn, CB Jaycee Horn, and LT Ikem Ekwonu. Now, the Panthers are widely viewed as the team that can make the biggest jump, given that they hit on a quarterback in the draft.
On a recent segment of NFL Live, Dan Orlovsky had a strong message for the Panthers - go get your guy.
"Carolina needs to take a rookie quarterback and they need to take one early. Where's the flaw of this roster? It's a pretty good football team. This is a team that is a top-10, potentially top-5 defense with all of their talent. The offensive line is going to get much better over the next year or two. Two decent backs. A really good wide receiver. With really good quarterback play...what team is going to jump in that division? Don't worry about New Orleans right now if you're Tampa Bay. Carolina, it's time to make the move. If you make the move, you can own the division for the next ten years given the salary cap issues that Tampa and New Orleans have. It's between you and Atlanta. That's how I feel about it. It's Carolina, Atlanta. Carolina, it's time to go. You have a quarterback as a head coach. Josh McCown is there. Those guys are going to develop a young quarterback. I love [C.J.] Stroud. I've said Stroud since day one there. If it's Anthony Richardson, I think with good coaching he could be an absolute rockstar in the NFL. I'm fine with Jimmy Garoppolo there. But we can't, if we're Carolina, continue to do the let's sign this veteran quarterback thing. This football team is way too talented and this division is way too below average to just sit there and say 'good quarterback play'. It is time Carolina. You're too good of an organization talent-wise to not get a superstar at quarterback."
A couple of weeks ago, a report surfaced that Orlovsky had discussed a "prominent coaching role" with the Panthers and Colts before ultimately deciding to stay on as an analyst at ESPN.
