In this story:

Monday evening, the Carolina Panthers announced that pass rusher Brian Burns underwent surgery to repair an ankle sprain that caused him to miss the last game of the regular season in New Orleans.

According to the team's official site, tests revealed a small fracture. The successful procedure was performed by Dr. Robert Anderson at Atrium Health Mercy. Burns is expected to recover in time for training camp, which will begin sometime in late July.

This past season, Burns posted career-highs across the board with 63 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 22 QB hits, and 12.5 sacks. Following a dominant season, Burns was selected to his second consecutive Pro Bowl.
