In this story:

Following a 3-0 start to the 2021 season, the Carolina Panthers made a trade to help bolster its secondary in hopes of making the playoffs. Carolina traded tight end Dan Arnold and a third-round pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for CB CJ Henderson and a fifth-round pick.

Unfortunately, the trade didn't help the Panthers in 2021 as the team only won two games the rest of the year. And it hasn't been a very kind trade to them since. Henderson has struggled to live up to the hype of a top-10 selection and because of it, his future in Carolina beyond the 2023 season is up in the air. On Monday, the Panthers declined to pick up the fifth-year option on his contract.

In parts of two seasons with the Panthers, Henderson has registered 58 tackles, eight pass breakups, two interceptions, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
