In this story:

Training camp is set to begin next week on the campus of Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC, and the Carolina Panthers will be without four players to get things started.

Offensive guards Austin Corbett and Chandler Zavala and defensive linemen John Penisini and Jalen Redmond have been placed on the active/PUP list.

Corbett tore his ACL in the regular season finale last year against the Saints and it was always expected that he would miss part of the 2023 season. That's not to say that he couldn't work his way back before Week 1, but that is very unlikely.

Fourth-round pick Chandler Zavala dealt with a pectoral injury during the spring and appears to still be effected by it.

John Penisini retired with the Lions after dealing with some injuries, particularly a shoulder injury that caused significant pain. Head coach Frank Reich said last month that Penisini was held out of some work after feeling a tweak, but did not specify what the injury was.
