Quick Hits: Building CB Depth, How Deion Jones Fits, Zavala Injury Update + More

In this story:
Bryce Young's performance today
"I thought Bryce had a good day today in the red zone. When you get down there, really tight windows as we all know. We're at the stage where you have to try things out. We're going to tell him, hey, challenge yourself. See if you can put the ball in that place, in that window, against that coverage. We need to find those things out now. What are we comfortable with? Do you like the way he ran that route? But I thought Bryce did a good job today. You throw enough down there, you're going to have some good ones and some bad ones."
Keith Taylor's interception in the end zone today and importance of depth
"Feel great about the cornerback depth. Great play by Keith. He's strung a couple days together now as you guys have seen. That's what we're looking for. The play he made in the red zone was really nice. He made a couple nice plays the other day in the stadium. We need that competition. We need that depth."
If he's ever coached anyone like Frankie Luvu before
"He's a unique guy. Frankie is so unique. He has so much energy. He's such a good player, so versatile. I was talking to Scott [Fitterer] the other day and I said, 'how did we end up with this guy?' I mean, this was like the steal of the century getting Frankie on this team. Love his leadership, love his play. His consistency, his aggressiveness...we're in a good place with Frankie."
The addition of linebacker Deion Jones
"He's a playmaker. He's had production. Athletic guy. Smart guy. I do think Deion has some versatility. I think we primarily see him as an inside guy, but I don't like to limit guys. He certainly has enough experience and all the systems that he's played in, coaches he's played under. Personally, I need to get to know his game a little bit more. Obviously EJ and the defensive staff will lead that effort but excited to have him, his experience, his versatility on the team."
Chandler Zavala injury update
"He's making good progress. Actually, I think he's made really good progress in the last couple days. We're really eager to see him get back out there. He can really help us, but we don't want to rush it. You got to be smart. Talking to our medical team this morning, maybe see him out on the field doing a little bit of something maybe later in the week or early next week."
