In this story:

Takeaways from day one of Bryce Young

"Good carryover from OTAs mentally and physically. I thought he threw the ball on time. As you guys probably saw, there was one or two that was super early. He's in control. He knows what he wants and how he wants it done and I think that's a great place to start from."

Getting Donte Jackson and Jaycee Horn back

It feels great. Donte's got that swag. We know he's a good player. Got the skill, got the mindset that you need to play out there on the corner and in that secondary. You gotta have depth there. I feel good about that group."

What he wants to see from Yetur Gross-Matos in his transition to OLB

"Just progress. That's kind of the adage, just one percent better. And until we get into pads, just show the mental side of it. I'm locked in. And then when we get the pads on, show the physical side of it. That position is a little bit different for him and what we're asking him to do physically, so it'll be good to see him get an opportunity."

Kamu Grugier-Hill's interception of Andy Dalton

"Phenomenal interception today. I was standing behind the offense, Kamu made a great play. Great anticipation, great play on the ball. I just think he's playing with confidence. He's just played a lot of football. He came into the league and really made a name for himself as a special teams player. But then he's really taken that to a new level, playing linebacker. He's fast, he's instinctive, he's smart. And then he can make plays on the ball like you saw today."

What they can do with Laviska Shenault

"We do think Laviska is a guy that can be versatile. I think as an offensive staff, we've all had experience with guys we've had. But we have to look at Laviska for him and how it fits in our offense. We'll dip our toe in the water in some of that stuff and see how it goes and that's not something that has to be in full bloom Week 1. That can be in the beginning stages in training camp and then the more success and momentum it gets, you build it. So, that would be more likely the path."
