Quick Hits: First Fight, Tight End Involvement, Haynes Banged Up + More

In this story:
CJ Henderson and Keith Taylor Jr. making plays
"I did see they made a couple really nice plays. I'm really happy with the playmaking that I've seen out here in this first block. Shaq [Thompson] had a big-time interception today back in that team period. I mean it was unbelievable. The DBs have made the plays that you spoke of. Vonn Bell made a great breakup. Excited about that. I think that's going to be a great group for us."
Involvement of the tight ends
"In our offensive scheme, tight ends do play a big role. They hit some corner, some sail routes today. Some big plays. I love our room. I've talked about it before but different kind of skillsets from each of them that compliment each other well."
Fight between Jordan Thomas and CJ Saunders
"It happens sometimes and for us out there, it's ho-hum. It's going to happen at some point. But really, the energy and enthusiasm and the grit and the fight really has to come within. When you have those moments out there you just move on and you stay focused."
Padded practice starting Monday
"Pads on Monday, yeah! Let's go! I think the players are looking forward to it. I mean, there's only so much...you can get a lot done in all this other stuff but I think we're all looking forward to getting the pads on. That takes the evaluation process to another level. It takes the execution to another level, so looking forward to that."
How Bryce Young performed today
"I think Bryce looked good today. I think he's been consistently pretty good. It's training camp. You run a lot of plays, so I like where we're at. I like the progress he's making. We're still trying to feel out in our offense...we got a big playbook, we're not going to keep all of it. Find out what we like, what we don't like. What fits us, what doesn't fit us and a big part of that is how it hits Bryce's eye. Feel good about the path that we're on."
Marquis Haynes Sr. banged up
"Marquis had a little bit of a back issue. He's fine. We're just being precautious. He should be fine. Prognosis is good and hopefully get him back out here soon."
