In this story:

How crucial the success of the offensive line will be

"Our philosophy is that it all starts up front on both sides of the ball. And that's one of the things we were really excited about coming into this team - a somewhat established offensive line, a great o-line coach. I know there's a lot of talk about what was done last year as far as the o-line but I think everybody has that mindset that this is a new year. We gotta prove it."

Practicing careful with pads on

"There are guidelines. We're going to thud it off in the hole where it's necessary like in between the tackles but out in space we're going to be smart. Really we're looking for a lot of that physical work when the o-line and d-line are together kind of in pods and when we get in the team run periods."

Initial impressions of Cade Mays

"His mental approach. I think he's a really smart player. And just listening to Coach Campen talk about him, he's just continued to mature in every way. Mentally, physically, understanding the game, his approach. Excited about what I've seen in the short time I've been here."

Kobe Jones making plays behind the line of scrimmage

"Kobe looked really good in OTAs and he was one of the guys like, okay, let's see. Today is the next step in putting pads on. Looking for guys to flash and that consistency and he did. He made a few plays in the backfield today for sure."

Bryce Young and DJ Chark constantly connecting

"I am excited that it's happening. It seems like they do connect every practice. You got two really smart players. DJ is very savvy and instinctive and he's got the speed to go with it. And Bryce obviously same way. I think that's looked good. We're excited about that."

What CJ Henderson injured

"His groin. I don't know the severity of it, so we'll get that evaluated."
