In this story:

NOTE: No trade projections in this mock draft.

1. Carolina Panthers: QB C.J. Stroud (Ohio State)

If I were the Panthers, I'd be scared to death of taking Bryce Young due to his size. If they are that close in your evaluations, then you have to take Stroud and trust what is an experienced coaching staff to bring him along.

2. Houston Texans: QB Bryce Young (Alabama)

The Texans will be happy with whichever quarterback falls to them and in this case, it's Young.

3. Arizona Cardinals: DE Will Anderson Jr. (Alabama)

Maybe Shane Steichen calls up his good buddy Jonathan Gannon and tells him, "Just make the darn pick," to do him a favor. The Cardinals would love to have Anderson but if they fall to the 7th or 8th spot on the board, they won't get the best pass rusher in the draft.

4. Indianapolis Colts: QB Anthony Richardson (Florida)

With the top two quarterbacks gone, Steichen and the Colts roll the dice on the boom-or-bust talent of Anthony Richardson. He did a nice job of working with Jalen Hurts over the last two seasons in Philly and will have the opportunity of working with another extremely mobile quarterback. If Richardson lives up to his potential, the Colts get the best QB in the draft.

5. Seattle Seahawks: DT Jalen Carter (Georgia)

I know there are some rumors floating around that Carter may fall clear to Chicago at No. 9 or perhaps even further than that. I just can't see it happening. He's too talented and if he's still on the board here, which he should be, I don't see Pete Carroll passing on him.

The rest of the picks
