A not so serious trade conversation was had between two longtime friends.

In this story:

In the latest episode of Panthers Blueprint, the Panthers creative team gave fans a look at what happened on draft night.

Just before the start of the draft, Seattle Seahawks GM John Schneider called Panthers GM Scott Fitterer joking with him to see if they would trade the No. 1 pick.

"John Schneider wants to know if you want to trade," Fitterer said to team owner David Tepper. "Sure. Sure, why not, John?" Tepper replied sarcastically.

Fitterer worked alongside Schneider for years in Seattle and helped usher a turnaround that led to a Super Bowl.

As a matter of fact, the moves Fitterer has made during his tenure in Carolina resemble what he and the Seahawks did at the beginning of their rebuild. They built the defense up, assembled a top-notch coaching staff and drafted and developed their own quarterback.

The one notable difference is Fitterer addressed its offensive line prior to taking Bryce Young. Russell Wilson never had the fortune of playing behind a stout o-line in Seattle.
