It's about to be an exciting week of football in the Carolinas as the Panthers are set to welcome the New York Jets to Spartanburg for a pair of joint practices (Wednesday, and Thursday) ahead of their preseason matchup at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Saturday.

"Looking forward to it. The Jets are a really good team," head coach Frank Reich said.
"Obviously, they got an elite quarterback, a very talented offense, and one of the better defenses in the NFL, so it'll be a good test for us."

Typically when teams hold joint practices, they'll turn their quarterbacks loose for the two practices but hold them out of the game. That won't be the case for Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young.

"Yes, he will play. I do have an idea [of how much]," Reich told reporters Sunday afternoon. "I don't want to talk about exactly what that plan is right now, but we've talked about that as coaches. We've got flexibility in that plan and there has to be. We have a general idea of how many plays we want to get through the whole preseason, but that can be adjusted by 10 or 20% depending on how things go."

Being that he has already been named the Week 1 starter, the coaching staff and front office for that matter, want to make sure they get him as many reps as needed before kicking the season off in Atlanta.
