Cam is Back: Panthers to Re-Sign Erving to One-Year Deal

In this story:
The Panthers can check off another box as they have found their swing tackle for the 2023 season, Cam Erving. The team announced that they have agreed to terms with the 30-year-old veteran, confirming a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter of a one-year deal.
Erving has spent the last two seasons with the Panthers, starting nine games at left tackle in 2021. Things didn't go as planned as he gave up three sacks and was flagged four times on the season. Toward the end of the year, Carolina took a look at Brady Christensen for the position before drafting Ikem Ekownu last spring.
In 2022, Erving appeared in only offensive 76 snaps mainly in jumbo sets or other obvious running situations, and excelled in that role.
With Erving and fourth-round draft pick Chandler Zavala set to sign, the Panthers will have 11 offensive linemen under contract.
