Smith was selected in the 6th round by the Panthers in the 2021 NFL Draft out of South Carolina and appeared in 23 games over his first two seasons with the team, recording 28 catches for 400 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Wims, 28, showed flashes of being a potential depth receiver on the roster during the preseason. He is a former 7th-round draft pick of the Chicago Bears which is where he spent the first three years of his career. In his time with Chicago, Wims hauled in 28 receptions for 266 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
At the end of training camp in 2021 he was waived by the Bears and eventually caught on with the Las Vegas Raiders for a short period of time. He spent OTAs and training camp last year with the Browns before getting cut and most recently was a part of the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad.
