Panthers Tight End Lands on Injured Reserve

In this story:
Thursday morning, the Carolina Panthers announced that tight end Stephen Sullivan (hip) has been placed on injured reserve, meaning he will be ruled out for at least the first four games of the season.
Yesterday, head coach Frank Reich hinted at this move when discussing the reasoning behind keeping five tight ends on the 53-man roster.
"We like that room. This whole offseason and in training camp, I keep telling those guys whenever I talk to the tight ends, like listen, this is a good room, and the way you guys complement each other. We'll see. We may make a move here, but I think we'll end up trying to keep these guys around. We really like this room."
In 14 games last season, Sullivan caught two passes for 46 yards, both receptions went for first downs.
