4 Patriots make Pete Brisco's top 100 players list

Last week, Pete Brisco of CBS Sports released his top 100 players of 2019.
Of the players named on the list, four of them were members of the New England Patriots: Tom Brady (6), Stephon Gilmore (30), Julian Edelman (90), and Shaq Mason (100). Making the "just missed" category was safety, Devin McCourty. Also making the list is former Patriot Trey Flowers (85) who is now playing for the Lions.
Having Brady at number stick will surely spark some controversy amongst New England fans. But Brisco explained his positioning of Brady on the list.
"Some might quibble with me having Tom Brady in the sixth spot, but he didn't have a great regular season in 2018 before lighting it up in the playoffs. Here's proof: Brady had just 56 more passing yards than Giants quarterback Eli Manning, had a lower completion percentage than Manning and threw 29 touchdown passes and 11 picks to 21 and 11 for Manning."
You could make the case that Joe Thuney and Sony Michel were snubbed from the list. Thuney was one of the best guards in the NFL last season, and Michel was extremely productive (4.5 YPC, 960 yards, six touchdowns) despite missing three games in the regular season. Former Patriot Trent Brown is another notable snub, who was a premier left tackle last season for New England before signing a massive deal with the Raiders this offseason.
