Isaiah Wynn, the first-round draft pick of the New England Patriots in 2018, parted ways with the team this offseason after spending five years in Foxboro. He explored free agency and ultimately signed a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins for the 2023 season.

Thus, Wynn will don a different uniform as he starts this new chapter of his football career.

During a media event on Tuesday, the Dolphins officially introduced Wynn and he shed ome light on his departure from the Patriots. The discussion touched upon his time in New England, which left the 27-year-old feeling positive about his tenure as a Patriot despite ending on a somewhat disappointing note.

Wynn spoke highly of his time with the Patriots, expressing appreciation for the organization, including the staff and players who were part of his journey.

"Oh, it was good," Wynn said. "They're the team that drafted me, so I appreciate everybody in that organization, from the staff to the players. I thank them. My time was good there."

He also expressed excitement about facing his former team in future games.

"It's going to be fun playing against them, especially seeing them twice a year being on the opposite side," Wynn said. "Being there previously, you play against the guys that may have already been there, and now I'm on the other side now. So, it's always a fun camaraderie. We'll see how it all plays out for sure."

Wynn, who was selected as the 23rd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Patriots amid high expectations, showed promise throughout his four-year tenure as a starter but fell short of fulfilling his full potential. However, his journey took an unexpected turn during the 2022 season when he had to adapt to a new position, transitioning from his accustomed left tackle role to right tackle during training camp. Unfortunately, his season was further plagued by a foot injury, allowing him to participate in only nine games before being placed on injured reserve in December, prematurely ending his campaign. His underwhelming performance in 2022 undoubtedly impacted his market value as a free agent.

However, as he embarks on a fresh start in Miami, there is hope that Wynn can revive his career and showcase his true potential again.
