Tom Brady seems to be having a pretty good time in retirement. He’s a dad and a businessman and an eligible bachelor who hangs around shirtless on his yacht amid rumors of him canoodling with assorted starlets.

Or … he could come out of retirement to play for the Minnesota Vikings?!

No, it doesn’t make much sense to us, either. The iconic New England Patriots GOAT has repeatedly made it pretty clear that he has no intention of returning to play professional football in 2023. … and that after 2024 he is going to settle into a lucrative career as FOX Sports’ lead TV analyst.

Still, the soon-to-be Hall of Fame quarterback once again finds his name being churned as fodder in the ever-grinding NFL rumor mill.

Minnesota’s newspaper of record, the Star-Tribune, is writing about it …

Additionally, there appears to be a social media movement by Vikings fans to convince Brady to sign on.

Who started the silliness (we think it’s silly, anyway) this time around? Here goes …

"Am I the only one thinking the Vikings should call Tom Brady?" Mike Florio tweeted on the ProFootballTalk account.

On Sunday, the Vikings lost starting quarterback Kirk Cousins for the rest of the season due to an Achilles tear. In the immediate wake of the injury, assorted ideas pop up. A big-name trade? A little-name trade? Carson Wentz off the couch?

Minnesota is now 4-4 on the year. So the Vikings have reasons to do … something.

Does there exist a connection between Brady and Minnesota? Well, Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell was once a backup to Brady in New England. Does that count?

No, not really. Tom Brady is 45, hasn’t played football in almost a year and keeps telling us “no” … despite a hungry and gossipy NFL media push that wishes he’d say “yes.”
