What CB David Long Jr. Can Bring to the Raiders

Las Vegas Raiders newly signed cornerback David Long and what he can bring to the team.

The Las Vegas Raiders continued to add more cornerback depth during this year's NFL Free Agency and NFL off-season. There was a desperate need to fill gaps in the Raiders cornerback depth room. The Raiders delivered by signing three cornerbacks this NFL off-season.

One of the three newly signed free agents for the Raiders is cornerback David Long Jr., who has spent four years in the National Football League and played with only one club: the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams selected Long Jr. in the 2019 NFL Draft. He was drafted out of the University of Michigan in round three, 79th overall. Long Jr. was named a 2018 All-Big Ten First-Team honoree. He also received 2017 All-Big Ten honorable mention.

David Long Jr., is heading into his fifth NFL season as a defensive back. Last NFL season, Long Jr. had a very proficient season for the Rams. He played a total of 12 games, four as a starter. He recorded a career-high of 21 tackles for the Rams last season.

Long Jr. can also bring playoff experience to the Raiders. He has played in a career total of six NFL Postseason games, in which he had a total of 12 tackles. He also recorded an interception for a touchdown in one of his postseason games. Overall, David Long Jr. has played in a career total of 52 games. He has started in 10 NFL games, totaling 75 tackles, one interception, and seven passes defended for the Rams.

Overall, David Long Jr., can impact the Raiders' cornerback room with his veteran experience and his playoff experiences to make the Raiders' cornerback depth more proficient than last NFL season.
