In this story:

After a close loss to the Miami Dolphins, the Las Vegas Raiders face another top AFC team in the arch-rival Kansas City Chiefs at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday.

Games between the Chiefs and Raiders never disappoint, even though many games have not gone the Silver and Black’s way in recent history.

The Raiders are looking to remain in the AFC playoff race and remain as close to the Chiefs as they can, and if they can turn their fortunes around against their c-rival, they will put themselves in a good position.

Of course, the Raiders’ defense will see quarterback Patrick Mahomes and all the problems he presents. Mahomes is comfortably the best quarterback in the NFL and one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history.

Even without his top wide receiver Tyreek Hill, Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce have found ways to win games. The Chiefs are the top seeded team in the AFC at 7-3, after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles, 21-17, on Monday Night Football.

Mahomes, the two-time NFL MVP and two-time Super Bowl champion, passed for 2,442 yards and 17 touchdowns in his first nine games this season. He also has thrown eight interceptions and has been a bit more careless with the football this season than in years past.

Mahomes has a 9-1 record against the Raiders and has thrown for 3,040 yards and 27 touchdowns against them. Raiders fans are well aware of what Mahomes is capable of, as they have seen it several times.

At 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, Mahomes has an extremely strong arm and can make exceptional plays, even when things look bleak and defenders have him dead-to-rights. He has done it over and over again, even when the Chiefs were trailing in the Super Bowl last season.

Mahomes will once again see Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby, and the two have quite the history, as they both are passionate competitors, and things tend to get chippy between the two stars.

The Raiders are going to try to defeat the Chiefs on Sunday, something they have not been able to do very much since the beginning of the Mahomes era.

In order to change their fortunes, they will need to find ways to slow down the star quarterback, something very few teams have been able to do throughout his career.

This is a new Raiders team, playing with lots of confidence though, so it will be interesting to see what Interim Coach Antonio Pierce comes up with to try to pull off the upset.

The Silver and Black will return home next week to celebrate Thanksgiving and take on their AFC West Rival, the Kansas City Chiefs, on Sunday, November 26, at 4:25 p.m. EST/1:25 p.m. PST.
