Over the last couple of years, the NFL has made increasing efforts to grow the game of football globally.

Last year, the NFL announced the launch of its Global Markets Program, where teams could apply for marketing rights in a specific country.

The Las Vegas Raiders were one of those teams, as they have marketing rights in Mexico, which has nine teams with marketing rights in its country, the most of any country in the program.

On Tuesday, the NFL announced adding two new teams and four new markets to the program. The New Orleans Saints were granted marketing rights in France, the first team to select and be awarded that market.

The Pittsburgh Steelers added the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland to their marketing rights, and the Jacksonville Jaguars added the Republic of Ireland to their marketing rights.

The Atlanta Falcons were granted international marketing rights in Germany, and the Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and New England Patriots, who also had marketing rights in Germany, are expanding their rights into Austria and Switzerland.

The Raiders were awarded marketing rights in Mexico in December of 2021, along with eight other teams, including the Chiefs and the Denver Broncos. The Raiders will have international marketing rights in Mexico for five years. Their marketing rights began in January of 2022 when the International Home Marketing Areas Program officially became the Global Markets Program.

The Raiders played in Mexico City in 2016 against the Houston Texans, the first game in Mexico since 2005. The Raiders emerged victorious over the Texans in that game, 27-20. The following year, the Raiders returned to Mexico City but fell to the Patriots, 33-6.

With the additions of the Falcons and Saints to the Global Markets program and the four new markets added, the NFL now has 21 teams with international marketing rights across 14  international markets.

As the NFL continues to expand its markets across the globe, momentum continues in growing the game of football. The Raiders are one of those teams making an impact in that expansion.

The Raiders' offseason workout schedule is as follows:

OTA Offseason workouts: May 22-23, May 25, May 31-June 2, June 12-15

Mandatory Minicamp: June 6-8
