Raiders Safety Roderic Teamer Arrested This Morning

The Las Vegas Raiders will be without safety Roderic Teamer for longer. The veteran defensive back was arrested Sunday for allegedly driving under the influence.

The Las Vegas Raiders were already without safety Roderic Teamer, as he had been on Injured Reserve with a hamstring injury since the Raiders faced the New England Patriots earlier in the season.

On Saturday, the Raiders activated Teamer, and then he allegedly did the unthinkable after that activation.

According to sources, Teamer was arrested early Sunday morning in Las Vegas after he was pulled over for speeding and was subsequently arrested for allegedly driving under the influence.

Teamer practiced this week and was activated from the Injured Reserve List on Saturday. On Sunday, he was listed as questionable for the Raiders' game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He now is officially out for that game.

Teamer will probably miss even more time because of his legal issues. The Raiders are aware of the incident and refused to comment.

The veteran safety has spent the last three seasons with the Silver and Black after starting his career with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2019.

Teamer played in 17 games for the Raiders in 2022 and 10 games in 2021, respectively.

However, his production this season has decreased, as Teamer had five tackles in six games this year after registering 40 tackles for the Raiders last season.

For a player already dealing with injuries and a lack of production, an off-the-field incident such as this can dearly cost a player in Teamer's shoes.

Teamer becomes a free agent this offseason.

The Raiders are still dealing with former Raider Henry Ruggs' drinking and driving that led to the death of Tina Tintor and her dog.

With injured teammates fighting to return to play and the Silver and Black still in a playoff hunt, if the allegations are true,

Teamer has shown a reckless disregard for the franchise.  More importantly, the negligence of putting people in his community in harm's way.

Based on how they dealt with the Ruggs situation, it should be expected that the Raiders will deal swiftly and quickly should the allegations be proven true.

The Silver and Black will return home to Allegiant Stadium to take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, December 10, at 4:05 p.m. EST/1:05 p.m. PST.
