'Great Human!' Les Snead Gives Raving Endorsement of Raheem Morris Amid Coaching Interviews

In the midst of Raheem Morris interviewing for multiple heading coaching positions, Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead gave a ringing endorsement of his defensive coordinator.

The Los Angeles Rams could be on the verge of needing a new defensive coordinator.

This weekend, Raheem Morris is scheduled to interview for four open head coaching positions across the NFL.

Morris will interview with the Seahawks and Commanders on Friday, and the Chargers and Falcons on Saturday. He has also been requested to interview with the Panthers but has not scheduled that meeting as of yet.

And in the midst of those interviews, Rams GM Les Snead had nothing but good things to say about Morris, giving him a ringing endorsement in a media session on Friday.

"(Morris is a) great human being," Snead said. "The guy is coded to respect everyone, to build a relationship with everyone no matter where you’re at in the organization... “He’s a highly intelligent human being who happened to choose football, and probably could’ve done a lot of things in life, but chose the path of football."

Morris first came to the Rams after spending six seasons in Atlanta, first as the assistant head coach and passing game coordinator, then as the defensive coordinator, before being named the interim coach in 2020.

Before that, he was with the Washington Commanders for three seasons, after serving for three years as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

And in the time since his first head coaching gig, Morris has grown tremendously, something that has not been lost on Snead.

“He’s going to give any organization an edge just how collaborative he is,” Snead said. “It’s going to be an edge that most teams aren’t going to be able to compete with. I know this, he’ll be able to hire an unbelievable staff. Every coach who’s any good, who’s qualified, they’re going to want to work for Raheem. And I’m pretty sure there’ll be a lot of tampering charges because just about every player in the NFL’s going to text him and want to come play for him.”

Morris was nearly hired by the Falcons the first time around after the team fired Dan Quinn in 2020, with the team ultimately electing to go with Arthur Smith.

Now, Morris is ready for a second chance, and Snead, and the rest of the Rams franchise, are behind him 100 percent.
