Rams Les Snead Uncertain of Aaron Donald Future?

With Aaron Donald's future still somewhat up in the air, Rams general manager Les Snead hopes Aaron Donald will be on the field in 2024.

The Los Angeles Rams have been fortunate enough to have Aaron Donald - one of the best defensive players in NFL history - on their roster for the last 10 seasons.

Over that time, he has accumulated 111 sacks, 176 tackles for loss, 260 QB hits, and forced 24 fumbles on his way to being named First-Team All-Pro eight times and making 10 the Pro Bowl in each of his 10 seasons.

However, entering the final year of his contract, the future past 2024 looked uncertain for Donald, with the star being on record as mulling over retirement for some time.

That said, when speaking to the media on Wednesday, Snead's words did not exactly express confidence that Donald would be suiting up for the last year of his deal.

"You know, we're definitely hoping Aaron is (back)," Snead said. "I know Aaron is spending time away with the goal of being revitalized."

While those words are a far cry from a certainty that Donald would be back on the field next season, this is not the first time that his future with the franchise has been in question.

Last offseason following the Rams 5-12 campaign, rumors swirled that Donald was considering hanging it up and retiring from football. Fortunately for L.A., that didn't happen, with the future Hall of Famer reaffirming his commitment to the franchise.

"You never want to end your career the way it was last year," Donald said last May. "It never really crossed my mind. Just trying to do everything I can to get myself healthy to be here today... I made a commitment to this organization to do everything I can to do my part."

The Rams will have to wait to see if that holds true this offseason, but based on his past, it would be a good bet to see Donald honor his remaining contract.
