Lamar Jackson On Facing Former Baltimore Ravens Teammate Marquise "Hollywood" Brown: 'That's My Boy!'

In this story:
When the Baltimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals square off on Sunday, it'll carry a little more weight than your typical match-up between two teams from different conferences.
Standing across the sideline from the Ravens will be Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, who spent the first three seasons of his career with the team from 2019 to 2021 before being traded to the Cardinals during the 2022 NFL Draft for a first-round draft pick.
Across his three years in Baltimore, Brown had 195 catches for 2,361 yards and 21 touchdowns. He led the team in receiving yards in 2020 and was coming off the best season of his career in 2021 when he set career-highs in catches (91) and receiving yards (1,008) and caught six touchdowns.
Despite the individual success from that season, Brown requested a trade and ended up in Arizona, reuniting with his former college teammate at Oklahoma, Kyler Murray.
Even though Brown wanted to play elsewhere, Lamar Jackson has no hard feelings toward him, though he said the former Ravens receiver would still be on the team if it was his choice.
"That's his decision," Jackson said. "He has to feed his family at the end of the day, and if he believes it's the right decision for him, that's on him. It's not on me. It's not my decision to make. He would've still been here if it was up to me."
Jackson added: "That's my boy. It's going to be different. It's going to be very different, but I'm happy for him – no doubt."
Across Brown's first season plus in Arizona, he has 99 catches for 1,092 yards and six touchdowns. This year, he currently leads the team in receptions (32), receiving yards (282) and receiving touchdowns (3).
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was also complimentary toward Brown and his contributions from his time in Baltimore.
"We've always respected him as a player, [and] we love him as a person," Harbaugh said. "Marquise is a great guy, and he looks good out there. He's their No. 1 target threat for sure."
The Ravens (5-2) face the Cardinals (1-6) at State Farm Stadium on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
