Ravens Free Agent WR Target DeAndre Hopkins Finally Hires a Certified Agent

The Baltimore Ravens have been linked to Hopkins since even before he was released, as several teams were rumored to be interested in trading for the wideout.

The NFL world is scrambling after the Arizona Cardinals cut veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Now, the Pro Bowl receiver is looking for a new home.

The Baltimore Ravens have been linked to Hopkins since even before he was released, as several teams were rumored to be interested in trading for the wideout. But one of the problems - aside from his just under $20 million salary - was his lack of certified representation by an agent.

The notorious Saint Omni was running things for Hopkins, and all possible contenders for his services were hesitant to deal with Omni, and for good reason. Last year, the NFL specifically warned teams not to deal with Omni or any other non-certified agent in connection with Roquan Smith. 

But now, reports are the Hopkins has hired a bonafide agent as Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Hopkins has hired Kelton Crenshaw of Clutch Sports.

It's possible Hopkins didn't like the numbers he was hearing from interested teams as he appears to try and work the Bills-Chiefs rivalry against each other. Last season during possible trade discussions the then-Cardinals receiver could've gotten a peek into where other teams value him, and he may not have liked what he heard.

After a dominant 2020 season where he posted 1,407 yards, Hopkins has recorded just 1,289 yards in the last two seasons combined. However, he only played in 10 games in 2021 and was limited to nine in 2022 due to suspension and injury.
