The Ravens and Chiefs are battling it out at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday for a chance to play in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas next month.

The Chiefs won the toss and elected to kick, giving Ravens quarterback and likely league MVP Lamar Jackson the first opportunity on offense. But the Ravens couldn't find footing against the Chiefs' defense and went three-and-out gaining just three yards in the process.

After a Ravens punt, the Chiefs ran at will against the Baltimore defense and rattled off three straight 10-plus yard plays in the process.

Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes drove his team down the field in 10 plays, 86 yards, and 5:45 ending with a 19-yard scoring pass from Mahomes to star tight end Travis Kelce and a 7-0 lead.

The Ravens have allowed just two opening drive touchdowns in the last 26 games prior to the score, while Kansas City extends its streak of an opening drive score in eight straight playoff games.

Mahomes went 5-for-5 for 57 yards on the drive plus the scoring throw.

Mike Macdonald and the Ravens defense will have to tighten up its play in order to contain Mahomes and Kelce at M&T Bank Stadium.

In their second possession of the game, the Ravens found their stride and answered. Jackson drove his offense 75 yards in six plays that culminated with a 30-yard touchdown pass to rookie wideout Zay Flowers who beat his coverage down the right sideline.

That tied the score at 7-7 with 4:58 left in the first frame.
