Seahawks Legend Marshawn Lynch ‘Hit it Off’ with Oscar-Winning Actress?

Former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch apparently found a new texting-buddy on the set of “80 for Brady.”

While the Seattle Seahawks may not have the fondest memories when it comes to quarterback Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, ‘Hawks legend Marshawn Lynch may have found a silver lining in the latest pop culture offering surrounding the team which many 12s feel were gifted a win in Super Bowl XLIX.

In Paramount Pictures “80 For Brady,” four best friends live life to the fullest when they embark on a wild trip to see their hero [Brady] play in Super Bowl LI. Brady himself appears in the film alongside screen legends Jane Fonda, Sally Field, Lily Tomlin and Rita Moreno.

In addition to a handful of Brady’s former Pats’ teammates — including Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola — Lynch was among the athletes and actors to provide a cameo in the film.

Though Lynch thankfully did not have to relive the goal line fiasco which bitterly ended their bid for a second Super Bowl title, his appearance in the film allowed him to forge a friendship with Moreno.

In fact, Vulture recently revealed that the two have become friendly enough to remain in contact via text since filming wrapped up:

Playing for the Seahawks from 2010 to 2015, Lynch was voted to four consecutive Pro Bowls, made one first-team All-Pro selection, and twice led the league in rushing touchdowns. He also helped the team win their first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XLVIII. For his tenacious style of play, he earned the nickname "Beast Mode," to which he continues to be referred today.

Moreno, 91, is one of a few performers to have earned the elusive EGOT, or been awarded an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony. She is perhaps best-known for her performance as Anita in 1961’s West Side Story, for which she earned Best Supporting Actress honors.

While the pair might be unlikely friends on paper, both Lynch’s and Moreno’s personalities are apparently compatible enough to continue their heartwarming friendship.

As the old saying goes: “Only in a movie.”
