As expected, the Seahawks will be without the services of left tackle Duane Brown for Sunday’s Week 6 contest against the Browns at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Brown missed practice this week with a lingering bicep injury and was listed as doubtful on Seattle’s final injury report. Coach Pete Carroll indicated the veteran hasn’t made progress as the team hoped after battling through pain to play in each of the past two games.

Though Carroll remained non-committal about who would replace Brown, fourth-year tackle George Fant has prior starting experience at the position and should be in line for his first start of the 2019 season.

Along with Brown, starting right guard D.J. Fluker (hamstring) will also be sidelined. He exited last Thursday’s 30-29 win over the Rams in the first quarter and was replaced by second-year player Jamarco Jones, who will make his first career NFL start in Cleveland.

Wrapping up Seattle’s inactives, running back Rashaad Penny will miss his third game of the year with a nagging hamstring injury, while defensive end Branden Jackson (neck) will sit out. Cornerback Akeem King as well as rookie receivers Gary Jennings and John Ursua will be held out as healthy scratches.

Without Penny, expect to see C.J. Prosise resume the role of third down back and see plenty of action rotating in behind starter Chris Carson in the backfield. Jackson’s absence will create an extended opportunity for first-round pick L.J. Collier, who has been inactive for two of the past three games despite being healthy.
