Film Breakdown: Quandre Diggs Brings Diverse Skill Set to Seahawks Defense

Possessing a wide variety of skills and impressive versatility, Diggs should be able to make an immediate impact in Seattle. Where does he best fit into the team's plans?

After losing Earl Thomas to the Ravens in free agency, the Seahawks officially bid farewell to the “Legion of Boom” and the secondary has struggled with injuries and inconsistency this season.

With Bradley McDougald battling back spasms and Tedric Thompson in coach Pete Carroll’s dog house, Seattle hopes to have bolstered the unit by landing Quandre Diggs, who was acquired from the Lions for a fifth round pick on Tuesday.

Formerly a team captain for Detroit and a 2018 Pro Bowl alternate, the 26-year old Diggs has recorded 152 tackles, six interceptions, and 17 passes defensed since 2017. He offers starting experience at both safety positions as well as nickel cornerback, bringing tremendous versatility with him to Seattle.

Diggs has been on Carroll’s radar since his time at Texas and from the outset, he’s expected to see snaps at both safety spots immediately. How will the fifth-year defender fit in with Seattle upon his arrival?

Check out my latest film breakdown as I look back at several of Diggs's previous games with the Lions and investigate how his diverse skill set will benefit the Seahawks.
