After losing tight end Will Dissly to a likely season-ending Achilles injury in Sunday’s win over the Browns, the Seahawks have re-signed Tyrone Swoopes to their practice squad among a flurry of other moves.

Swoopes, 24, originally signed with Seattle after the 2017 NFL Draft as an undrafted free agent. Formerly a quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, he converted to tight end as he entered the league and spent most of his first two NFL seasons on the practice squad.

Earning a promotion prior to traveling to London last season, Swoopes recorded his first NFL catch during a 27-3 win over the Raiders. He quickly was waived after the game and most recently was waived/injured by the Seahawks on August 3 before reaching an injury settlement.

Along with bringing back Swoopes, Seattle re-signed Adrian Colbert and added tackle Chad Wheeler and cornerback Brian Allen to the 10-player practice squad. In corresponding moves, cornerback Parry Nickerson and linebacker Malik Carney were released.

Previously a starting safety for the 49ers, Colbert initially signed with the Seahawks practice squad last month before earning a promotion to the 53-man roster. Injuries to Duane Brown and Ethan Pocic forced the team to release him on Friday to make room for tight end Jacob Hollister and guard Jordan Roos.

Previously starting 19 games for the Giants over the past two seasons, Wheeler will be reunited with line coach Mike Solari, who was his position coach as a rookie in 2017. As for Allen, the former-fifth round pick out of Utah played in 16 games for the Steelers over the past two seasons and recorded a single tackle.
