10 Minute Takes - part of the Three Rivers Podcast collection - brings you today's news and analysis in, you guessed it, ten minutes. Go inside today's biggest Pittsburgh Steelers news and breakdowns with host, Noah Strackbein. New episodes every Tuesday and Thursday.

Why Nick Vannett?

Nick Vannett is a low-cost tight end who's spent most of his time in Seattle as a blocker. With a contract that ends in 2019, the Steelers have to have some sense as to whether or not they'll keep him around moving forward.

With a desperate need at the position, Vannett makes an immediate impact for the offense. Vance McDonald remains an injury risk and with Xavier Grimble on IR and Zach Gentry underperforming, the Steelers needed to do something about the depth.
