College Analyst Loves Idea of Steelers Drafting Iowa LB Jack Campbell

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers did head west to visit Iowa during their Pro Day, meeting with inside linebacker Jack Campbell for the second time during this NFL Draft period.
After meeting with Campbell at the NFL Combine, Pittsburgh took a second look when they went to his Pro Day, assumingly to watch him and defensive tackle Lukas Vann Ness. Now, the inside linebacker is being tabbed the right fit for the Steelers at pick 49.
During the Joel Klatt Show on Fox Sports, Klatt said he loves the idea of Campbell joining Pittsburgh.
"I really think I love the pick Jack Campbell, linebacker for Iowa, going to the Pittsburgh Steelers around 49," Klatt said. "They have first-rounder, two second-round picks, 32 and 49, and I’m looking at Jack Campbell, and I’m like, ‘Captain Jack in a Steelers uniform makes a lot of sense.’ This guy is big. Listen, I would love if he ran a little bit better, but when you watch the tape he moves better on tape than what he would do in a 40-yard dash. He plays fairly fast. He’s a really smart player. He makes every play you need him to make, he’s a sure tackler, he’s the type of guy that can come in and eventually be the captain of your defense."
In his four-year career, Campbell recorded 305 tackles, 13.5 of those tackles for loss, three sacks, three forced fumbles, 15 pass deflections and five interceptions.
The Steelers recently signed Elandon Roberts and Cole Holcomb during free agency, but should still be expected to be eyeballing an inside linebacker in the NFL Draft. With Mark Robinson being a second-year player and Roberts being 30 years old, Pittsburgh is thinking long-term at the position with their next addition - which could be Campbell if things work in their favor.
