Steelers Land Next Orlando Brown in New Mock Draft

The Pittsburgh Steelers get their offensive tackle in the latest mock draft.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have their eyes set on a number of positions in the NFL Draft, but there has been no hiding their interest in the two first-round Ohio State offensive tackles.

Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan were front and center during Ohio State's Pro Day, and the night before, Tomlin treated both Paris Johnson and Dawand Jones to dinner. Now, he's selecting on in the 33rd Team's latest mock draft.

With the 17th pick in the NFL Draft, the Steelers land Jones to add a 6'8 frame to their offensive line.

"Dawand Jones is a great fit for the Steelers’ offense. The giant offensive tackle (6-foot-8, 374 pounds) has the strength and power to push defenders off the line of scrimmage. Pittsburgh brought in guard Isaac Seumulo from the Eagles during free agency, giving them even more talent up front. Kenny Pickett missed games because of a concussions last season, so building a wall in front of him makes sense," the 33rd Team writes.

The addition of Jones would create a brand new left side of the offensive line for Kenny Pickett and Najee Harris. The Steelers haven't openly given up on either Kevin Dotson or Dan Moore Jr., but it's apparent they are interested in trying to find upgrades. So far, they've replaced Dotson with Seumalo. Now, they'll look to replace Moore and add a bigger name to Pickett's blindside.

Jones's NFL player comparison, according to the 33rd Team, is Orlando Brown Jr. Conqincidently, the Steelers were reportedly interested in Brown during free agency, which only makes you believe their interest in Jones is very real.

Jones is the fourth tackle taken in the draft by pick 17, following Broderick Jones, Peter Skoronski and Paris Johnson.
