Steelers Making Two Changes on Offense

The Pittsburgh Steelers are making two adjustments with their new offensive coordinator.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to make two changes to their offensive game plan as they move forward with a new offensive coordinator.

After the firing of Matt Canada, Eddie Faulkner will take over as offensive coordinator for the Steelers. Quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan will call plays, and the entire offensive coaching staff was expected to contribute in putting together the game plan for Week 12.

That plan intends to make two changes to their approach. The first is to target second-year wide receiver George Pickens more, and the second is to give running back Jaylen Warren more carries, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Pickens has had three 100-yard games this season, but has seen his production fall flat in recent weeks. With Kenny Pickett struggling, Pickens has caught just 10 passes for 104 yards in the last four games.

Warren is coming off back-to-back 100-yard games, but the Steelers offense has given him limited work. Last week, despite scoring the team's only touchdown on a 74-yard run, Warren was handed the ball just nine times.

Despite touching the ball 48 fewer times this season, Warren trails Harris by just six yards as the team's leading rusher.

Rapoport also reported the goal for Pickett is to do what he's comfortable with, and try to get the ball out of his hands early and into the hands of his playmakers.

The changes should provide the Steelers offense with some added firepower, utilizing their most explosive players. Diontae Johnson, Harris and Pat Freiermuth will also be looking for added action with the change at coordinator.
