Ravens Officially Have Their (Backup) QB Back

The Baltimore Ravens get one quarterback to return, even if it's not the one they're hoping for.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers and their fans are having some fun as they wait to see what happens with the Baltimore Ravens this season. There has been no holding back when discussing the potential of a poor season if Lamar Jackson decides to sit out, but Baltimore's backup plan is officially returning to the roster, so that's a start.

The team announced that Tyler Huntley has officially signed his restricted tender, re-joining the team for the 2023 season. The Pro Bowler played six games, including four starts, last season, throwing for 658 yards and two touchdowns to three interceptions.

He ran for 137 yards and a touchdown as well.

Huntley's return means the Ravens at least have a quarterback with starting experience on their roster. Meanwhile, Jackson's future remains uncertain and Baltimore has done some homework on first-round QB Anthony Richardson.

What's to come is unknown, but it's interesting to think the Ravens would consider a draft day trade to go get a quarterback early in the draft - practically ending Jackson's time with the team.

They're also dealing with off-the-field issues as Odell Beckham Jr. has been named a suspect in an assault case.
