The Steelers drafted the former Biletnikoff Award winner out of Oklahoma State with the 60th overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft and his college teammate, current Pittsburgh quarterback Mason Rudolph, was picked up 16 picks later.
Washington spent four seasons with the Steelers from 2018 to 2021, amassing 114 receptions for 1629 yards and 11 touchdowns over 60 appearances and 25 starts. The Steelers elected not to resign him after his rookie contract expired and Washington went on to sign a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys that spring.
He suffered a fractured fifth metatarsal injury in practice during training camp that year and did not return until December. Dallas released him in January and Washington caught on with the Giants' practice squad one week later. After his contract expired with New York, he signed with the Saints in May on a one-year deal and it took just three months before he was released again.
