PITTSBURGH -- A Western Pennsylvania native has found his way back home for a tryout and is expected to spend a year with his hometown team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, after he signs with the team this week. 

Inside linebacker Nick Kwiatkowski, who hails from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania and played his college ball at West Virginia, will ink a deal with the Steelers this week after arriving days ago for a tryout, according to a report from Colin Dunlap of 93.7 The Fan. 

Kwiatkowski brings starting experience and a track record of production to the Steelers' linebacker room. He's appeared in 89 games and made 34 starts over the course of his seven-year career in professional football. 

A fourth-round pick of the Chicago Bears in 2016, spent four years as a solid reserve backer before signing a three-year, $21 million free agent deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. His two seasons with the Raiders were the best of his career. He played in 20 games and made 12 starts, amassing 102 total tackles, four tackles for loss, an interception and two forced fumbles. 

He spent last season in a reserve role with the Atlanta Falcons, playing in 12 games and recording just seven tackles.
