Texans BREAKING: Pro Bowl LB Denzel Perryman Signs With Houston

The Texans signed another big difference maker on Wednesday afternoon, for former Raiders Pro Bowl LB, Denzel Perryman

The Houston Texans might be the hottest team in free agency right now.

And on Wednesday afternoon, they continued that trend, signing former Las Vegas Raiders free agent Pro Bowl linebacker, Denzel Perryman, according to reports.

The deal is set for one-year.

Perryman now joins a Texans defense that already looks radically different from its 2022 predecessor, with the signings of safety Jimmy Ward, and defensive linemen Hassan Ridgeway, Chase Winovich and Sheldon Rankins.

The Texans have also made major offensive moves, bringing in the likes of wideout Robert Woods, running back Devin Singletary, tight end Dalton Schultz, and offensive lineman Shaq Mason, among others.

Of all of those new additions, however, Perry might be the one with the highest upside thus far.

The 30-year-old is coming off of a season that was cut short due to a shoulder injury, where he played in 12 games, starting 11, and amassed 83 tackles and 14 tackles for loss, with one sack.

During his first year with the Raiders in 2021, Perryman had by far the best season of his career, racking up 154 tackles and five tackles for loss, and was voted to his first Pro Bowl.

Before his time in Las Vegas, Perryman spent his first six seasons with the Chargers, tallying 586 tackles, 45 tackles for loss and six sacks in 96 games, with 77 starts.
