Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik is scheduled to have a pair of interviews this week with the Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons.

Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik is gearing up for a series of second interviews this week.

Per a report from NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Slowik is scheduled for an in-person interview with the Commanders on Tuesday night. Following this, he is poised for a second interview with the Falcons in the latter part of the week.

At age 36, Slowik recently wrapped up his first season as Houston's offensive coordinator, overseeing the play-calling for rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud. Stroud, a standout candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year, boasted a 64 percent completion rate, amassing 4,108 yards with 23 touchdowns with only five interceptions. The Texans concluded the season ranked No. 12 in total yards and No. 13 in points scored.

Slowik kicked off his NFL coaching journey as a defensive assistant under Mike Shanahan in Washington, dedicating three years to that role.

Considering the prospect of taking on the Commanders' head coach position, it would symbolize a return to his roots as it marks the place where he initiated his career as a staffer.

During his tenure in the Bay Area, while Shanahan assumed the play-calling responsibilities, Slowik played a pivotal role in the 49ers' offensive staff. The 36-year-old served as San Francisco's passing game coordinator from 2021-22 before making the transition with DeMeco Ryans to Houston. This instrumental move led to Slowik taking on the role of offensive coordinator for the Texans, and the outcomes exceeded expectations.

Aside from the Commanders and Falcons, Slowik has piqued the interest of the Panthers and Seahawks. Although he engaged in an interview with the Titans, Tennessee ultimately opted for Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan.
