'He's Hungry!' Texans DeMeco Ryans Praises New RB Signing Devin Singletary

The Houston Texans have quickly put the league on watch this offseason, adding another offensive talent to their offseason acquisitions.

Former Bills running back Devin Singletary is headed to Houston, following his recent free agency signing, and will help provide a change of pace from primary ball carrier Dameon Pierce.

And Singletary’s apparent mantra heading into his first year with the Texans? "Lack of worries."

In his four years with Buffalo, Singletary has proven to be a key contributor to its high-powered offense — adding rushing to the otherwise passing-heavy Bills.

Singletary's best game last season came just before Christmas, when he tallied 125 all-purpose yards, breaking off a 33-yard touchdown run in the process.

While the Texans will not have a superstar quarterback like Josh Allen next season, they will have what they hope to be a star-in-the-making, depending on whose name they call on draft night.

Whether it be Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Will Levis or even Anthony Richardson, the Texans' passing game needs to make a rapid improvement from last season.

But, the same could be said for the rushing game, and with the addition of Singletary, that might just happen.

With a backfield of Pierce and Singletary, Houston will have both young talent and veteran experience in the backfield behind their rookie passer, which coach DeMeco Ryans described as a "One-two punch".

"[I'm] excited to have both of those guys," Ryans said. "Dameon has shown a lot from his rookie season. He's shown that he's a really good player, and being able to add Devin there with him ... I think it'll be really great addition for us. [I'm] Excited for what Devin can bring. He's hungry to show that he can do more. I'm so excited to have him in Houston."

And while it is already clear that the veteran is bought in and ready to suit up for Houston, if Singletary is anything like his "angry" co-star in the backfield, the Texans' run game could be getting that much scarier next season.
