In this story:

The Houston Texans have not had great luck against running backs over the last few seasons. Particularly the top backs such as Titans star Derrick Henry and Colts star, Jonathan Taylor.

And unfortunately for Houston, that string of bad luck could continue early in the season, with Taylor, despite his reported unhappiness with the Colts, now looking likely for an imminent return.

"He should be back, yeah, next week," Colts coach Shane Steichen told reporters.

NFL Network had reported that the stellar Colts back had issued a trade request. And Colts owner Irsay, added gasoline to those aforementioned flames, with his controversial quote in the offseason.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport also reported that Irsay and Taylor met at training camp aboard the Indianapolis owner’s private luxury bus as they attempt to calm the relationship between the two sides ... if not get down to negotiations. Taylor is in Year 4 of his rookie contract, with a full value of $7.8 million. He makes about $5 million this year - a steal - and is eligible for an extension.

On top of that, Taylor had been battling injury issues this offseason, calling his availability into question as well.

Luckily for the Colts, those issues seem to be near an end.

“I don’t have an answer for that and a timetable on that," Steichen replied when asked about Taylor's availability. "But really looking forward to getting him back and getting him healthy and getting him back out there playing with the guys."

Meaning, of course, that by Week 2, if everything goes as the Colts hope, Taylor could very well be back in the lineup vs. Houston
