Nick Caserio Out? Texans 'Organizational Changes' Could Be Imminent: Report

Could the Houston Texans be making a drastic change to their organizational structure coming in the future?

HOUSTON - The Houston Texans have undergone massive changes this offseason, hiring new head coach DeMeco Ryans, and adding a host of impact talent on both sides of the ball via free agency and trade.

But now, some bigger changes could be on the way.

According to a report from NFL insider Michael Lombardi, the Texans could be on the verge of making some drastic changes to the organization coming in the future.

"There's a longer game to be played in Houston," Lombardi told the GM Shuffle Podcast. "I think there will be some organizational changes in Houston after the draft. I'm not saying people will be fired, but organizationally things will be shifted."

Lombardi's report comes at an interesting time for the Texans, with rumors surfacing from Houston reporter John McClain that general Manager Nick Caserio could also be on the move.

"A longtime member of an AFC front office I’ve respected for years told me he heard Caserio was leaving after the draft to return to New England," McClain said. "I told him it didn’t make sense on any level, but I checked with people in the Texans’ organization I trust, and they said they didn’t believe it, either."

All things considered, the idea of Caserio leaving Houston, as McClain states, does not seem like a likely outcome.

Caserio still has three years left on his contract, just made a new head coaching hire in Ryans, and was incredibly aggressive this offseason in helping to rebuild the Texans roster quickly.

Now, in just two short weeks in the 2023 NFL Draft, he will have a chance to pick a potential franchise-altering quarterback in Bryce Young or C.J. Stroud, to go along with 11 other picks

In other words, the potential ahead for the Texans, if things are done right, are off the charts.

So, with that in mind, could Lombardi be referring to other changes within the organization?

Absolutely.

What those changes could ultimately end up being though, remains to be seen.
