Bijan Robinson Sees A Fit As RB Tandem With Texans Dameon Pierce

In this story:
The Houston Texans need help in just about every area of their roster heading into the 2023 NFL Draft.
Yes, even at running back, where rookie phenom Dameon Pierce had a stellar first season with the franchise.
Why? Because Pierce can't do it all by himself, and could use a little bit of lightning to add to his thunder.
Enter Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson, who enters the draft as one of the top offensive players, regardless of position, and who met with the Texans during the NFL Scouting Combine.
"It would be a smooth transition to play with somebody like that," Robinson said of joining Pierce. "I think it's important to have those running backs that can complement each other. I think you last longer in the league if that's the case. So he's a great player, but if that's the case, then I'm all for it."
Robinson also realizes that Pierce has already established himself as the Texans' starter as well, rushing for 939 yards and four touchdowns on 220 carries last season.
And while he also eyes a starting NFL spot, if he does head to Houston, he would be more concerned with helping the offense as a whole and doing whatever he can to help Pierce and himself become better players.
"He's done everything right in his first year in the NFL," Robinson said of Pierce. "I respect him a lot. And if that's the case, I'm going to go in there and learn as much as I can from behind him. Obviously, I'm going to compete my butt off to make him a better player and for him to make me a better player."
Should the Texans elect to go this route, it would certainly be a departure from what most experts have predicted for the franchise at the No. 12 pick.
That said, Robinson can quite literally do it all, from catching passes out of the backfield, running between the tackles, and pass protection. He has speed, quickness, power, vision, and every other trait teams covet in running backs.
In short, he is the consensus No. 1 rated running back for a reason and would be a fantastic complement to Pierce and the Texans' offense in more than one way.
