J.J. Watt Signing with Texans?! 'One Game, $20 Million!'

In this story:
Houston Texans legend J.J. Watt has retired from the NFL and is moving into TV ... and he's not ever looking back. Unless ...
"If they want to throw out $20 million for one game, I'll show up, no problem," Watt recently joked about the prospects of re-signing with the Texans or any other team. "I'll suit it up for one game, $20 million."
That would be a treat to watch ... but would obviously not be cap-friendly. So instead we will be watching as Watt moves into a role that might just be a very natural fit, as he'll be joining CBS' NFL studio show broadcasts for the 2023 campaign.
"I love the game too much to be away from it entirely,'' Watt said. "I'm very excited to be joining CBS Sports to contribute across all their NFL shows and platforms, including working alongside and learning from JB (James Brown), Coach (Bill Cowher), Boomer (Esiason), Phil (Simms) and Nate (Burleson) this fall. Hopefully fans will enjoy the insights and knowledge I've gained over my 12 years in the NFL and if we're lucky, we'll share a few laughs along the way as well."
The 11th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, Watt spent 10 seasons with Houston, earning honors as a three-time Defensive Player of the Year (2012, 14-15), a five-time Pro Bowl selection (2012-15, 2018) and a five-time First-Team All-Pro (2012-15, 2018). He was also an iron man, having started in all 128 regular-season games in which he played, as well as seven of eight playoff games from 2011-2019.
Watt departed from the Texans in March 2021 and spent his final two years as a member of the Arizona Cardinals. He ranks 24th in league history with 114.5 career sacks and he is still saying in shape, but ...
"I am not training to play NFL football," said Watt, 34. "So you can call all you want... I'm doing vanity workouts, I'm doing workouts to look good at the beach.''
