Rookie linebacker added in latest roster move

The Tennessee Titans’ training camp linebacker shuffle continued Monday with the addition Quart’e Sapp.
The Titans signed Sapp, who played played 27 games over four seasons at the University of Tennessee, and waived-injured Nigel Harris, who played just one snap Saturday against New England.
The 6-foot-2, 223-pounder out of Alpbharetta, Ga. becomes the second former UT linebacker on the current 90-man roster. He made 111 tackles and four sacks in his career. His best season was 2017, when he started eight games, recorded a career-high 78 tackles and all four of his sacks,
LaTroy Lewis, Sapp’s teammate for two seasons in Knoxville, played 27 snaps and made one tackle against the Patriots.
Sapp also is the second in-state linebacker signed in recent days. Josh Smith, out of Vanderbilt, was added late last week.
Sapp and Smith took part in Tennessee’s rookie orientation on a tryout basis. Neither did well enough to earn a contract immediately but they made enough of an impression that the Titans did not forget them.
