NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans are making changes to their linebacker group and one part of that is watching former players at the position head to new teams. We already saw David Long join the Miami Dolphins and now the Titans see Dylan Cole head to the Chicago Bears according to multiple reports. There will be a third linebacker to leave for a new home with Zach Cunningham when he eventually signs with a team as well.

Cole got a ton of opportunities with the Titans in 2022. Cole played in 15 games and was a starter for eight of those games. He got a career high in defensive snaps at 438 and in special teams snaps with 295. With the increased opportunity, Cole put up a career high in tackles with 64 and tied career highs in tackles for loss and sacks.

Cole will now travel to the Windy City to play for the Bears. A common path the last few offseasons for former Titans. In recent years we have seen names like Khari Blasingame, Dane Cruikshank and Darrynton Evans head to Chicago. In this offseason alone we have seen Nate Davis, DeMarcus Walker and D’onta Foreman sign up to play with the Bears. Foreman made a pitstop in Carolina before making it to Chicago, but nonetheless, the pipeline is obvious.

While the Titans have seen departures, they have also made some additions at the linebacker group this offseason. Bringing in Azeez Al-Shaair and Luke Gifford on free agent contracts. The Titans also have Monty Rice, Chance Campbell and Jack Gibbens still under contract. The Titans’ linebacker group will look significantly different in 2023 and based on the recent signing that obviously will not involve Dylan Cole.
