Carolina Panthers And Steve Smith Agree To Contract Extension

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith has agreed to a contract extension, according to Pro Football Weekly.

The deal will keep Smith in Carolina through 2015 with an option for 2016. Pro Football Weekly reports that Smith is slotted to earn $7.75 million in 2012, but that amount may grow as it is believed that the new extension has front loaded money into his deal.

Smith’s original contract expired following this season.
