Report: Eagles' Jason Peters Retears Achilles, Will Miss 2012 Season

Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters has ruptured his Achilles tendon a second time and will not be able to play in 2012, reports Derrick Gunn of Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia.

Peters initially ruptured the Achilles on March 27, while working out near his Texas home; the Roll-A-Bout machine he was using for rehab malfunctioned and Peters reinjured the tendon. He again needs surgery, and he reportedly plans to sue the manufacturer of the faulty device.

Peters, who entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas with the Buffalo Bills in 2004, earned five consecutive Pro Bowl selections between 2007 and 2011.
