The Bulls have given the Grizzlies permission to interview assistant coach Ed Pinckney for their head coaching position, according to a CBSSports.com report.

Pinckney, a former Big East star and assistant coach at Villanova, has impressed the Memphis front office with the work he's done in Chicago under defensive mastermind Tom Thibodeau. Pinckney, 50, also spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the Timberwolves.

The Grizzlies have already spoken with former Nuggets head coach George Karl and former Suns head coach Alvin Gentry via phone with plans to bring both to Memphis for interviews, according to reports. The Grizzlies also plan to interview assistant coach Dave Joerger.
