Luis Suárez: Spain’s first Ballon D’Or winner

Luis Suárez Miramontes made history at FC Barcelona under the management of Helenio Herrera and then followed the iconic coach when he moved to Inter Milan. Suárez won the Ballon D’Or in 1960 and remained the only Spanish player to have ever received the award until Alexia Putellas won it in 2022.
